Perfect Summer Outfit

I'm sure I have commented on this t-shirt before, but this just tells you how much I love it! I never understood why someone would have a favorite shirt. It's just a shirt, right? Wrong. This shirt fits me like none other and for some reason I have not been able to find another shirt like it. I also got it on super sale at Free People so that makes it even better. The sunglasses are from Anthropologie, completely adore these too, shoes are from Nordstrom Rack, and then the shorts and necklace are from good 'ole Forever 21. To me this is the perfect summer outfit. Nothing beats high-waisted shorts and stripes.

Happy summer,
Mae

(This sadly is not my dog, we are currently dog sitting for a friend. As much as I would love a dog I don't think that I will getting one any time soon.)

T-shirt dress

I found this awesome shirt at Forever 21 that had an M on it. It was so perfect and made me unusually happy because they didn't have any other letters. It was a medium making it rather large on me, so why not wear it as a t-shirt dress? Put a mini skirt underneath for safe measure and you're solid. I believe t-shirt dresses are becoming a new favorite thing.

Decor

I am completely in love with my new tapestry from Urban Outfitters! It was just what I needed to add some color to my white walls.

Hope this spurs some design inspiration.

T-shirt makeover - Urban Outfitters style

I recently received a free t-shirt with a purchase (one of those buy-one-get-one-free deals) and naturally the clothing that is included in deals like those are not the prettiest. Granted, I was in a Florida surf shop so a majority of their stock was not fashion forward. So I figured this would be the perfect experimental shirt and it turned out nicely.

When I was surfing the Urban website the other night I almost purchased a normal t-shirt with a twist, when I realized that I could make the shirt myself I decided not to pile it on top of my already $70 purchase (I Just love Urban Outfitters).

Step One
Find an old t-shirt or a new t-shirt.
Step Two
Flip the t-shirt over so that you now have the back facing you. Find the middle of the shirt and cut a straight line. Then make the slit as big as you would like.

Step Three
Now cut the bottom off, as short as you like. I ended up cutting quite a few inches off. Then stretch the corners after the bottom is cut off. This is where you will tie it.

Step Four
Tie the knot. Make sure you stretched the fabric enough so that you can double-knot it and still have fabric hanging down from the knot (makes it look better).
Step Five
Put the shirt on with your favorite backless bra, tank top, or my favorite bra to wear with low-back shirts from Forever 21.

Enjoy your breezy summer shirt! If you like in Texas like me, you will be thankful.

Hello there

Wow I haven't touched my blog in quite sometime. Some recent, exciting news is that I got accepted into an awesome art school in Dallas called Wade College. I look forward to attending that in the fall. My dreams of becoming a fashion designer will be reality as I will be majoring in fashion design.
Speaking of design. I repurposed my dad's old button down into a skirt.

Stripes

I feel as though I haven't loved an outfit in a very long time. Well today I was very pleased with my outfit. Feeling like a referee in my black & white stripes.

Knee-high obsession

My obsession for knee-high socks is growing. There is just something so fun and flirty about pairing knee-highs with a dress or skirt.

Keep it spunky,
Mae

My morning

It's a Sunday which means sleeping into the afternoon and tons of homework. I love procrastinating. Well, I don't love it but I do it all too often. That's why my Sundays end up crammed with homework. I'm sure some of y'all understand. It is also difficult to not let senioitis not hit too hard. Constantly reminding myself to stay motivated and not shut off.

Happy Sunday,
Mae

A new skirt

Last weekend I got behind my sewing machine and whipped out a skirt. It felt good to sew again. Hope everyone is having a great last week of break!

Inner introvert

My inner introvert is coming out. All I've wanted to do lately is be by myself. I have a deep desire to travel alone. Explore and discover exclusively, meet new people, with no familiar faces. If I could go to an airport and pick a random location and get away for a few days. My excitement to be graduated is building immensely. I'm praying that in four months time I will have much more freedom to go and do.

Coffee lover

I feel like every coffee lover feels this way about 99% of the time. And because it is in the PM and coffee would not be smart at this hour I figured writing about it would help.

Enjoy every cup of coffee,
Mae
