Decor

I am completely in love with my new tapestry from Urban Outfitters! It was just what I needed to add some color to my white walls.

Hope this spurs some design inspiration.

T-shirt makeover - Urban Outfitters style

I recently received a free t-shirt with a purchase (one of those buy-one-get-one-free deals) and naturally the clothing that is included in deals like those are not the prettiest. Granted, I was in a Florida surf shop so a majority of their stock was not fashion forward. So I figured this would be the perfect experimental shirt and it turned out nicely.

When I was surfing the Urban website the other night I almost purchased a normal t-shirt with a twist, when I realized that I could make the shirt myself I decided not to pile it on top of my already $70 purchase (I Just love Urban Outfitters).

Step One
Find an old t-shirt or a new t-shirt.
Step Two
Flip the t-shirt over so that you now have the back facing you. Find the middle of the shirt and cut a straight line. Then make the slit as big as you would like.

Step Three
Now cut the bottom off, as short as you like. I ended up cutting quite a few inches off. Then stretch the corners after the bottom is cut off. This is where you will tie it.

Step Four
Tie the knot. Make sure you stretched the fabric enough so that you can double-knot it and still have fabric hanging down from the knot (makes it look better).
Step Five
Put the shirt on with your favorite backless bra, tank top, or my favorite bra to wear with low-back shirts from Forever 21.

Enjoy your breezy summer shirt! If you like in Texas like me, you will be thankful.
